Targeted seminar ‘СBC as a regional capacity building instrument’ 11.12.2018
South-East Finland – Russia CBC 2014-2020 programme will organise, in cooperation with the expert of the TESIM (Technical Support to the Implementation and Management of ENI CBC programmes) project, information and practical seminar ‘CBC as a regional capacity building instrument’ for regional and municipal officials of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. The seminar will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia on 11 December at 12:00-16:00, at the address Suvorovsky pr. 67.
At the event participants will get information about the South-East Finland – Russia CBC 2014-2020 Programme as a tool to promote economic and social development of the regions and generate well-being for its inhabitants. We will discuss how public organizations can benefit from participating in CBC projects in terms of achievement of measurable and sustainable positive results for their regions, and consider specifics of the cross-border partnership (expectations, regulations, added-value). Some practical guidelines for applying for the Programme funding will also be provided.
Seminar language is Russian, supported with English where relevant.

The South-East Finland – Russia CBC Programme has a pleasure to welcome you to Lappeenranta, Finland for its 1st Annual Event.
CBC In My Region
On the 18th of December at 16:30-19:00 local time, the Lappeenranta University of Technology (how to get there) provide facilities to celebrate operational start of the cross-border cooperation between Finland and Russia. Event will increase the visibility of the CBC programme, promote achievements and demonstrate the added value of cooperation to the programme stakeholders and key decision-makers as well as among the local population. The event will also give floor for the first selected projects to present their activities and objectives.
What to expect? Inspirational speeches, best practices, new ideas for the future and information on what is about to be delivered during the years 2018-2022 with joint financial input of ca. 77 million euros from the European Union, Russia and Finland. On-site, small snacks to keep up positive spirit!
Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced cross-border cooperation actor, from a municipal administration or a business, an expert in public services or an education or environment specialist, we can promise something for everyone. Young citizens and students are especially welcome to experience and observe how the cooperation builds ways for their future.

Fifth call closes on 27 March 2019
Fifth open call for proposals of the South-East Finland – Russia CBC 2014-2020 closes on 27 March 2019 with the financial envelope of € 6,8 Mio. Applications may be submitted to all four priorities:
Priority 1: Lively, active and competitive economy
Priority 2: Innovative, skilled and well-educated area
Priority 3: Attractive, clean environment and region
Priority 4: Well-connected region
For the fifth call there are some specific criteria and emphasis set by the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) in its meeting on 6 September, which should be considered for the preparation of the proposals.
- Maximum duration of the projects awarded from the fifth call is 30 months. This is due to closing schedule of the programme, reflecting to projects’ eligible implementation period until the end of 2022. Maximum duration must be indicated already in the application.
- While selecting applications for the awards, a special emphasis shall be given for those proposals increasing institutional capacity of public authorities at municipal level of governance in Russia and Finland, their relevant roles in the partnership and support to sustainable use of the expected results.
Application document-pack and process are the same as in the previous calls, but the Partnership Statement template is renewed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Older versions are not accepted. Go to PROJECTS site for templates. Lead applicant workshops to support finalising of the applications are organised in Finland and Russia in January-February 2019. Dates and places with the registration instructions are published before the winter holiday season.
