The European Commission has communicated of the approval of 17 Programmes for the period 2014-2020 to be implemented in the external borders of the European Union (including land and sea borders) with the total financing envelope of 1,052,6 million euros. Seven of these Programmes are implemented in cooperation with the Russian Federation.
Implementing Regulation (EU) 897/2014 for Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) Programmes under the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI) has been adopted on 18 August 2014 and amended on 23 June 2020 Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/879. These documents lay down specific provisions for the implementation of programmes as well as funded projects. They also detail the modalities for the technical and financial management of the ENI CBC Programmes.
