Joint Monitoring Committee had its 12th meeting

The Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) of the South-East Finland – Russia CBC 2014-2020 Programme had its twelfth meeting on 15 June 2021 on-line, following continuing safety measures due to coronavirus pandemic. The Committee took an overview on the Programme’s administrative procedures and the state of play on funded projects. In total, Programme funding is granted for 71 projects of which four has been concluded by the end of May 2021. Read more from the April 2021 News bulletin

Programme’s new accounting year, 7/2021-6/2022, starts soon and the Committee was introduced with the MA’s Annual Work Plan, which was also approved. Focuses during the coming year are in supporting projects’ implementation and closure, disseminating information of the results, and simultaneously building capacity and increasing preparedness for the next programming period (2021-2027). These objectives are addressed with several means, for example by sharing information, organising training sessions and events, and publishing written instructions and newsletters.

The Programme has also launched planning of its third Annual Event for early December 2021, in Kotka Finland. More information of the event shall be published after the summer breaks. Another major event, in October 2021, is the All-Russia Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia, where the Programme and some of the funded projects shall participate together with other CBC programmes implemented between Finland and Russia. Pandemic may impact on the practical arrangements of the events, but as was learned from the past year, it shall not stop cross-border cooperation.

Summertime services

During the summertime, services of the South-East Finland – Russia CBC 2014-2020 Programme are available with some exceptions, due to national instructions and restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and for the personnel’s holidays.

We continue mostly in remote work until 15.8.2021, both in the Managing Authority (MA) and Branch Office (BO). The best way to get in touch with us is by telephone or email, information available at CONTACTS. Managing Authority’s office in Lappeenranta is on call during Mon-Fri at 9.00-14.00 (EEST) for document deliveries and visits excluding 19 July – 6 August 2021, when the MA office is closed. During those weeks, we’ll take random look at the official e-mail, but all the official work processes are continued on the team’s return to work.

Have a nice summer! CBC-team
